'Til on that cross, as Jesus died, the wrath of God was satisfied, for every sin on Him was lain. Here in the death of Christ I live.
There in the ground, His body lay. Light of the world by darkness slain. Then bursting forth in glorious day, up from the grave He rose again. And as He stands in victory, sin's curse has lost its grip on me. For I am His, and He is mine, bought with the precious blood of Christ.

My whole life, we've had an Easter tradition of making a bunny cake. My mom always made it, sometimes with my help, until last year when my sister in law made it. This year, I made our first red velvet bunny cake. Torri said that we could think of Jesus's blood when we cut into it. I used this recipe, baked it in two cake pans, and cut one of the cakes to make ears and a bow tie. I decorated it with jelly beans and raisins.
Torri made this gorgeous cake! She used a special checkerboard pan, and she said that it took ten minutes just to pour the cake batter into each layer. It might be the first and last checkerboard cake we ever have. Torri put pink and yellow icing side by side in a single piping bag to make the floral icing. Isn't it amazing?!
Here's what I wore on Easter.
dress - Lilly Pulitzer (old)
sweater - hand me down
sandals - Franco Sarto
pearls - gift from my parents
1 On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb. 2 They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, 3 but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. 4 While they were wondering about this, suddenly two men in clothes that gleamed like lightning stood beside them. 5 In their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, “Why do you look for the living among the dead? 6 He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: 7 ‘The Son of Man must be delivered over to the hands of sinners, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.’ ” 8 Then they remembered his words.
